Is there a movie in your life which you really love or loved although it is unpopular and is generally considered by people to be poor?
In my case it is Who's That Girl, a 1987 film starring Madonna. I don't know what I like about it, probably the atmosphere. Anyway, I really enjoy that movie, although I can see how cheap it is.

Dune by David Lynch

I didn't know they made a movie of it. Cool!
Also, after I read this, I just discovered that they're planning a remake in 2010! Even cooler. :)
As far as I'm concerned its gonna be hard to top Lynch's images. Especially the first 30 minutes or so. The visit from the Guild Navigator to the Emperor is awesome. So is the loading of the Guild transports - the transports look so *huge*.
Lynch was blamed for making a movie about basically 3 books without handling everything..
QuoteThe visit from the Guild Navigator
Excellent indeed.
One expects hitech flashing lights according to sci-fi standards, but it's a container blowing steam..
By the way, in the course of time I gathered some tracker modules by others, related to the Dune movie :

Well, the film is quite "old" already, even older than the computer game. :D
I've got a version of the movie on VHS tape dated 1984.
The DOS game can be found here (http://www.louigiverona.com/webarchive/samzen/download/eiland/dune.7z) and is dated around 1991.
I played both games (Dune 1 and Dune 2)
And I'm now downloading the movie (1984 one)
Downloading the movie... :S tsk tsk tsk... :P
It's obvious that the game was later, because the characters are cloned from the movie, like Sting.
Dune is a classic.
It still sells on DVD.
It seems to me it was a commercial fiasco back then because of poor marketing. Many fans never knew about the movie until later.

I bought the soundtrack by Toto on CD some time ago.
Toto people were somehow inexperienced in making movie soundtracks, but I think it worked.
Yeah, well that movie seems to have a cult following. My movie is more unpopular! =)))
Actually, I just watched it - haven't seen it in quite some years. I decided to show it to my wife and I am amazed that it really leaves an inimitable impression each time I watch it. Cathy liked it, although I doubt anyone can understand how much I really like that movie.

Its about a Christ-like figure literally parachuted into the old west.
To quote that figure (Jessy) : "I'm on my way to Jerusalem to be an actor/singer. It is written that the Agent Morris awaits me. "
My wife introduced me to this - very very hard to find until Amazon put the digital file for download.
Ha! In fact, anyone can watch this great movie right now! Found it on YouTube - just go to the URL below and scroll down the Madonna playlist - you will soon spot it, it is in several parts there.
