Nice composition, but I would really recommend to not use the standard Windows MIDI soundfont for sample sources. Check out the Web Resources entry in the help menu to find some more sample sources.
I wouldn't say it's ambient - I guess it belongs somewhere in the broader chill-out genre (which ambient itself of course belongs to).

Yes, those are some good sources to get started.
