I second that shirt request. O'course there's always Cafepress...but we'd still need a proper logo.

I had to recreate the logo a while back, so here it is:

I had a bunch of high-quality shirts made a long time ago, black cotton tees with the logo on the front and "It's the MUSIC, Stupid!" on the back.  Problem being most of the people that wanted one live outside of the US, so shipping and customs forms etc. really made it not worthwhile.

Uh, I don't think so...  I was working on the new web site and needed to recreate the logo since I couldn't find the original files. :\

Couldn't we find a representative for each country? or at least for Europe?
If the demand is there, then why not?

Thanks MisterX. A splendid logo.

Until now, I used this button to start my OMPT, extracted from the splash screen :

The top logo (on the forum header) is a vector recreation of a logo MisterX once sent me.

I still have the logo somewhere as vector (in a PSP file).

another problem is fees for money transfer without a credit-card...   ::)

if you still have some just send them to chip so he can spread the stuff ;)
(and please include 1 or 2 of those coffee cups *fg*)

I saw a nice icon made for OpenMPT in a post in the French MPT community (http://nokenjisan.free.fr/MPTFR/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?598) - or at least it seemed to be such, I don't really understand French :)

Well, let's see here, we have Australia, The Netherlands and "65 degrees North".

I need to figure out a distribution method for the shirts that won't cost a fortune to get them to you. :\

Post by: LPChip on June 11, 2008, 19:19:01
Kim, if you can send me 2 shirts, I can then send one to Sam_Zen. That would cut down in the costs. Sending it to others will probably even more expensive than it will be for you, and I'm sure many people here will want to pay you some little cash for the distributionfee.
Title: modplug logos, banners etc.
Post by: Sam_Zen on June 12, 2008, 01:32:04
Clever idea by LPChip, if members are living nearby.
If costs are very high, maybe it's an alternative to send the digital design data of the shirt, so people should go to the local shirt-print shop and deliver the file.
The problem with actually sending cash over the Net is often still an expensive action. Sending 1 euro maybe costs 2 euro to send for example.

Post by: bvanoudtshoorn on June 12, 2008, 03:53:30
Sam_Zen has a good point - it'd probably work out cheaper all round if people have it printed for themselves. :/

Title: modplug logos, banners etc.
Post by: MisterX on June 16, 2008, 02:06:44
Perhaps you are right about it being cheaper to print locally, however:

1) I don't think that I have the original designs that these particular shirts were made from. (MPT Logo on front, "It's the MUSIC, Stupid!" on the back)

2) The point is that I still have a bag full of them and I already have five or six of my own that I wear. :)

The shirts are all Extra Large (XL), black cotton.

I can send two to you, LP, but no one else is close by? :(

There's also the hassle of customs paperwork that I may have to deal with, but I'll have to look into that.  It would be great to have the MPTees all over the world, though!

I guess I could send a package containing 2 shirts to jojo, so he can send one to BSV?

For me its more expensive to send outside of NL than it is inside NL.

Another option would be to organise a gathering so I can bring the t-shirts there and we all meet. :) But I guess that would be even more expensive for some of you. :)

I can do a bank transfer to outer european countries, and doing that is much cheaper than using paypal. I would not suggest to use paypal in this case, although its a possibility.

of course it's also wiser in this case that only one person (LPChip?) does a bank transfer for all.

The shirt and cup concepts do indeed seem quite interesting. Perhaps once Jojo becomes tired of programming and LPChip gets tired of whatever he does (automechanics perhaps) and they give those tasks to their children (perhaps), they will open up a convenience store (or pawn shop perhaps) and sell Modplug themed cups and t-shirts. As for Snu and Mr. X, it appears that they are both already in the designing field. Snu makes the shirts and Mr. X makes the cups (?).

New 88x31 buttons for linking to openmpt.org are in the works, a first one made by fuith is already available from here: http://openmpt.org/links
Also, let's not forget about Snu's ModPlug Wallpaper (ftp://ftp.untergrund.net/users/sagamusix/openmpt/resources/graphics/wallpaper1-1600x1200.png)!

Also, since Kim's leftover MPT shirts never reached Europe as it seems, it would probably be a nice idea to make some new ones based on the vector graphics linked above. They're simple so they can easily be printed on a shirt or a cup, and they are also extensible.
