Hm. Considering the theme, the guitar part is a bit disappointing.
It has little expression, it accompanies the chords. very neatly, far inside the edges..

thanks for the listen and comment.

Strangely enough people like this one on traxinspace and not so much the edge of chaos. I personally like chaos better myself too.

I think I see what you are saying about the expression - I felt hampered by my inability to play fast on this one.

As you say so, I think you're right.

I agree the lead guitar needs some work.  Some of the string bends were off considerably.  I like the ideas in the song though.

Thanks for the listen and comment. Could you point out the places where the bends were out? I just listened and didn't hear that.

As far as expression goes... Sam is absolutely right, I agree. (things get wacky late at night with these improvs - sounds like "the shit" and then you wake up the next day and go... damn.) But my wife likes it - reminds her of some Elton John song. (Must be one from the early days) I'm thinking its the chord progression. Very simple||: E G A:|| - E D C E D C E D C B A are the bass notes.

But - she don't like "Rolling Sevens" and both you and Sam do like that.

The odd thing is people's taste. I don't' think I'll ever understand it.

My ears are very sensitive to string bends even slightly out.  It could be just my own need for perfection.  I find that some classic rock songs on the radio sound out of tune to my ears.  I'll listen again when I have the time and let you know where I think it is.

I think I understand your objection now. This, I think, explains why you find classic rock song bends out of tune.

Please refer to this:

There is no real reason to stick to 12 TET when playing an instrument capable of playing the "notes in between the notes".

In fact there is no reason not to make music in any arbitrary tuning. Its all left up to your imagination.

That is probably it.  I do like blues and jazz though.  certain styles are an annoyance to me.
