I've bought a new camera, and it has a supurb quality. The camera is a Canon Powershot I5 IS. Its a bridge model (between digital camera and mirror reflex camera).
Yesterday, I decided to go to the forrest to shoot some photo's, and I'm really thrilled with the result. The photo's are slightly modified after. Mainly reduced in size to fit 1080p quality and a little bit of digital camera noise correction which makes the photo not digital looking anymore, and even a bit more sharp. :)
I have 2 links for you.
The following loads all photo's in thumbnail mode.
http://files.lpchip.nl/photos/
You can click on the filename to save/open the highres 1080p image.
Feedback is appreciated :)
Enjoy.
Nice :)
nice shots :)
oh... so you have a forest around where you live
Just give us your new DeviantArt url and your new digital photo artist name, so we can follow your new hobby from first hand :D
(and don't abandon the music totally  we will really really miss your industrial chiptunes.)
DeviantArt is a nice tip. I'm sure LP will not abandon sound, but it's always ok to practice other disciplines as well.
Indeed nice pictures. I very much like the ones with a closeup of an object.
Leaving music? OMG what nightmare did you got?
Ofcource I won't abandon music. Photography is just a hobby that I started because I got this camera. Before I also made photos but those camera's were dissappointing. Atleast their quality was what was expected, so it wasn't that bad...
Deviant huh? Not a bad idea. I might make an account this weekend. :)
gawd, maybe we should start english lessons on this board?
Quotedid you got

sorry but i'm very picky when it comes to gramma and apostrophes. :P

Grandma's?
lol yeah, shit happens
lol
Very nice, LP! You've got some great photos there. :)
And for the language pedants... I was once one of you. I recommend you read Stephen Fry's latest blog entry (http://www.stephenfry.com/blog/?p=64) -- it's absolutely fantastic, and deals with pedantry and such.
Thanks, Barry. Indeed a great article by Stephen.
I've added 5 more photo's :)
Today it snowed outside.
Three guesses what thought came in my head?
Indeed. So I went out to the forest again, and made another set of photos.
I also added some experimental photos.
I'm curious what you guys think of this. :)
Nice snow-pics, LPChip, like 303. And I like the clouds serie as well (250)
This leads to a comment.
This is quite an unefficient way of publishing your graphic art. All on one page, so every addition takes more time.
Better divide it into series on different pages. Also with a defined name.
IMG_... is something like 'opus 3048', it doesn't hint to anything.
I see a lot of shroom pics, picked up another hobby as well??? LOL
Yup, nice shrooms, i can imagine as yet another hobby of his.
LOL. Better hurry, LPChip, after december 1 the paddo-cops will chase you.. :)

something's certainly wrong with your camera or your settings...
Or the fact that I was forced to use a too high ISO which got me noise and I used a filter in PSP to get rid of it, which screwed up my photo's :P
NASA needs more image editing people like you, link to put in your resume below!
[LOL=bwahaha]LINKY[/LOL]
Ah... The image quality seems quite impressive. I owned a S2 IS roughly three years ago. Made good use of it until I decided it was time to move up a notch and bought a DSLR. A Pentax K100D - never looked back since. :P
More then one creative discipline is good I think. :D So continue and snap away!
I've added new images.
Make sure you check out my new collection called "Playing with Light"
Since the amount of images has grown quite since the beginning, I've changed the script a littlebit to support folders. That way, you can now click and browse a folder and its images instead of seeing everything at once.
Also, the thumbnail mode is the default one now. Just click on the image or filename to get it larger.
I've uploaded new photos. The new collections are named 2008 Winter 2 and Birds.
The birds one was a bit experimental though, and that resulted in a less good quality. Especially some of the images as I tried digital zoom there. Really bad mistake :P
But I'm probably going to shoot better bird pictures in the future, cus I've ordered a new zoom lens. Should make it better. :)
QuoteI've got a new camera. :D
...and so have I! I got a Pentax *istDL from my father for being done with school! 8) Pretty nice DSLR if you ask me. I can use his lenses and also old lenses from the analogue times since Pentax lenses and cameras are always backwards-/forwards-compatible.
Here's the nicest foto I've shot so far:

Jojo:
I've got a Pentax K100D. They are very similar. I own a couple of old lenses and my precious FA 1:1.4 50 mm. Renders extremely subtle bokeh.

Here are some of my photography (http://www.flickr.com/photos/suecae_sounds), mostly nature related.
Yep, that camera is pretty similar, my father has a K110D which is even more similar to yours. :D So I can always swap lenses with him. :P
The K110D is exactly like the K100D minus the in body stabilization. Pentax makes great cameras to my mind. Inexpensive and capable of delivering very good results. :)
I've got a Pentax as well, it's a simple model, the Optio 60, but I'm very content with the results.
I'm not very good with cameras, but sometimes things are focused very well, following my intention.

That camera's got a lot of balls! :P
residentgrey,
I expected to see that one coming! :)
my first tries with a macro lens:

You even even see the eyes!
I'll add a link to my personal library of images as well. One that I am particularly fond of.

It is a macro image of the texture of stone. I used a narrow depth of field to create a more intriguing general feel to the composition.
Today is a perfect day for taking macro pictures!

Edit: That was a tough one:
(http://sagagames.de/ithumb/thumbs/imgp19608771da41.jpg) (http://sagagames.de/ithumb/show/imgp19608771da41.jpg)
wow, these are nice. :)
I really like the last one.
I agree with LP - all are very nice and the last picture is really excellent.
Thanks - as briefly mentioned above, the last one was a really tough one, as this insect kept flying away all the time, unlike a bee. Out of 50 or so shots, about 3 were usable, this is one of them.
I've decided to put my work on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/49465023@N08/) now. :)
I've put a few more macro and not-quite-macro shots I took today on my flickr page. :)
