Title: How to sustain notes?
Post by: Nye500 on May 03, 2015, 20:59:39
I'm trying to create a pedal note (a long bass note), and the note only plays for an instant, and then it goes silent.
I thought that notes were automatically sustained and had to be cut off?
Please help.
Thanks

- Is the sample actually long enough and looped?
- In case you use instruments, check that the volume envelope doesn't kill the sample too early.
- Or in case you are using an instrument plugin (VSTi), check the instrument's ASDR envelope(s) or other volume properties.

In addition to Saga Musix:
Does the note sound longer if you hold down the key?

Also, make sure, you do not have "record note off" enabled in the setting, as it will place the following in your pattern:

C-4
===   <-- note off.
