Title: VSTi output too loud in .wav export
Post by: aGIANTpupafish on September 08, 2007, 17:59:55
Full Version:
Open Modplug Tracker version 1.17.02.28

Has the bug occured in previous versions? If yes, please specify version(s): (This option is optional, and doesn't need research. But in case you know...)

Description of the bug: If you have a song which features both VSTi plugins and samples then the playback within the tracked file makes the samples appear louder and VSTi output quieter than in a .wav export.

How often does it happen?: As far as I know always.

How to reproduce (step by step description): Create a track with both VSTi and samples and listen to the volume balance.  Then export it and listen again...

can you reproduce this with a free VSTi, and then provide an example for us?

actually... on further exploration the volume of vstis just seems inconsistent from MPT to wav.

For example my SDC 18 entry.  VST/VSTi used:

well, a work around would be to use a vst recorder, like tapeit.
should record exactly what you hear, and has a nice clip monitor (thats the main reason i use it, rather than having to render to a wav multiple times to get the right volume).
