Indeed limiting the content is no option. The issue about posting non-MPT-based tracks is a passed station.

But this is about location/category of the forum. Where to put what ?
Of course the site could be enlarged with other forums, but that's up to the site-builder.
But I don't think some occasional thread about work which is not by the poster him/herself is no reason for that so far.

Just keep it simple. The Download section is a place for members with "look what I've made".
If you post "look what I've found", made by someone else, it's more a General matter about music.

Besides, there's a practical matter involved :
If you post work by another author in the Download section, the track is added to your profile-list.

ok so simply explained, expanding the forums is out of the question atm, and the majority is fine with:
free music downloads=only stuffs produced by us.
general=really any other stuffs or topics that comes to our mind.

alright, im fine with that decision too.
