Loop player with time stretch and sync to host tempo
« on: September 20, 2016, 08:40:19 »
In the past, I was determined to find a VST which is capable of playing a loop synchronized to host tempo using simple pitch shifting without implementing time stretching.
LoopDrive

was pointed out and I have since then also discovered Loophole.

I am now looking for the opposite.  I.E. Something that is capable of playing a loop synchronized to host tempo which uses time stretching to preserve the original pitch.  Preferably free.

Thanks in advance.

I admit I have been looking for this, loophole and specifically loopdrive have been my go-to choices with a pitch shift effect, obviously this is a manual method...
I do not have any suggestions for you, but if you get an answer to this I would like to get that answer too.

Hey, how about disturbance:

second link is the site that gave me the download link.
I had forgotten about this plugin, but yeah you can put loops into it and it will will keep their pitch, none of these kinds of things are perfect and this one does seem to have problems sometimes, but yeah, it took a loop I cut from a snot song and gave me the ability to loop it at many timings nice and clear... give it a try.

Not bad, but it seems to have problems staying synchronized to host tempo.  Also, the plugin is always running in the background so you can't really use note on/off to retrigger the loop.  Note on/off only unmutes and mutes the audio output.  Still, it's the closest I've seen so far which is also free to what I am searching for so thanks for the heads up.

Yeah I have been playing with it for a last day, tooktwo loops from handel's watermusic of varying length, noticed both those problems, but it does seem to be quite flexible otherwise, Ie, I took it down to the lowest speed on modplug and although choppy it was quite beautiful, and went to 500bpm and although fast it resembled the original loops. This is definately going to be something I use, I'll just have to consider the constantly looping nature of it...
I am considering using it to simply make loops by exporting to wave, then it just ends up as a system to get it to conform to timing, but I certainly think it worth it even without that step. Saying synchronised is a definite problem and it wont work when changing timing in the song.
Glad I could help.
